For ten years following 1965, Tokyo's air was polluted by the smoke from factories around the city. This air pollution was remarkably improved by strict control of air pollutant sources, including boilers, and use of higher quality fuel, in terms of environmentally. Tokyo’s area of industry in the sea, Tokyo Bay, is also very polluted, and people have the job of collecting the rubbish out of the Bay.

Meiji Shrine was founded November 1st 1920, it is dedicated to Emperor Meiji after his death in 1912. It is located in Shibuya, Tokyo in a forest that covers an area of 70 hectares. Meiji Shrine, is an Imperial Shrine.
LANDFORMS
The Sumida river and Mount Fuji are two of the most famous landforms in Tokyo. The Sumida River is a river which flows through Tokyo, Japan. The river flows from Arakawa River right through to Tokyo bay. The Sumida river was previously the path of the Arakawa River, however due to flooding precautions the river was split to divert the main flow through the Arakawa river to prevent flooding. Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan stretching 3,776.24m into the air.Mount Fuji is a stratovolcano, it last erupted in 1707-08. It is located 60 miles south-west of Tokyo.
